BAGSBACK is a Miami-based handbag company that sells beautiful Colombian mochila bags. A portion of the proceeds from each bag purchased is used to assemble a donation bag that is given to a child in need; this bag is called a Bag Filled With Dreams. Each of these bags are filled with school supplies, a musical instrument, and a toy, all with the intention to help improve a child’s education, as well as enhance his/her childhood experience.

Our mochila bags are all handcrafted by Colombian Amerindian women. They can be used to carry anything from personal belongings, to school supplies, or work materials. Depending on the tribe, its materials and technique, creating a mochila bag can take anywhere from two weeks to two months. Each bag is truly one of a kind; every design has its own symbolical meaning, which in most cases depicts the close tie between the native tribes and Mother Nature.

Weaving is one of the few remaining art forms of the indigenous people of Colombia. BAGSBACK actively supports the continuation of this tradition.
